The field of robotics has come a long way in my lifetime. My earliest impressions on robotics came from movies and television. Some robots were a bit silly, like the robot from “Lost in Space.” Some were scary, like the HAL 9000 from “2001: A Space Odyssey” and later “The Terminator” robots.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The sooner breast cancer is detected, the less likely a woman will need highly invasive and uncomfortable treatments and the more likely she will survive the disease. In the United States, one out of eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.

Being a dad is hard. Being a girl dad is even harder. This may come as a shock to a lot of you out there, but I was never a 10-year-old girl growing up. I know; I know. Shocker. I love all four of my kids equally. But I relate to Calvin and Charlie so much easier.
