Gustafson: 'I Want to be Greatest Rebounder in the State'

OSCEOLA — It wasn’t the ending Osceola was looking for, but the Bulldogs have a lot to be proud of this season. Multiple school records fell this year. This season was a breakout season for Kale Gustafson. “Kale is amazing!” Osceola coach Jason Zelasney said.

Bulldogs Upset at State

LINCOLN — It all comes down to free throws. This has been the story for Osceola boys almost all season. They have a hard time hitting free throws. In the beginning they hit a few, and then by the end of the game, they make more of them.

MISSION IS STILL NOT COMPLETE

OSCEOLA — The Osceola community came together to celebrate a piece of history on Sunday. Nearly 250 people packed the Osceola City Auditorium as the boys basketball team prepares to go to Lincoln this week to compete for the Class D-2 State Title.

Bulldogs Need 3 Wins to Complete their Mission

OSCEOLA — This season for Osceola has been defined by the number 3. There are three seniors on this year’s squad in Kolton Neujahr, Caleb Peterson and Isaiah Zelasney. The Bulldogs were involved in three overtime games. A fan got a T-shirt for every 3-point basket the Bulldogs hit at home.

Osceola Returns to State Thanks to 64-45 Win Over Friend

OSCEOLA — It wasn’t always pretty, but the Osceola boys basketball team earned their third consecutive Class D-2 state berth with a 64-45 victory over Friend to take the D2-4 District Final Monday night in the Bulldogs’ gym.

Cougars Win Subdistrict, Bulldogs Earn Wildcard

Osceola 66, St. Francis 63 LINCOLN — The old saying, the third times a charm, didn’t apply to the Osceola Bulldogs this past week as for the third straight year they would meet the Parkview Christian Patriots in the subdistrict finals and once again would fall to them, 71-58.
Osceola finishes the season with a record of 12-12 and is the D2-1 District Final runner-up.

Bulldogs fall to Defending State Champs

FALLS CITY — What a difference a year makes. Osceola knew they had an uphill battle on Friday in the D2-1 District Final at Sacred Heart. Taking on the defending Class D2 State Champions on their home court with a trip to Lincoln on the line is a tall order for any team.

Osceola Pulls Out the Win in First Subdistrict Game

LINCOLN — Osceola was placed in a tough subdistrict by the NSAA. As it is, they had to deal the hand they were dealt, even if it didn’t seem right or “fair.”  First up was Humphrey St. Francis, ranked 12th by points according to the NSAA.
