Osceola Girls Take 1st at Sutton Invitational

SUTTON — Osceola girls edged 11 other teams to claim victory at the Sutton Invitational on Tuesday, May 21. The Bulldogs finished with 79 points, five more than St. Cecilia, who finished second. Sierra Boden won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:41.56.

Titans win opener on the road

BANCROFT — Twin River used a 12-run sixth inning to take control of Tuesday’s season-opener against Thurston-Cuming County. The Titans would go on to win 14-8.

Osceola Has High Hopes for 2023 Track Season

Osceola track has high hopes for this upcoming season, and for good reason. They have many returning athletes and some promising newcomers. First there is two-time fourgold medalist Isaiah Zelasney. He would be a three-time state medalist except his freshman year was Covid.

Baseball Team Ready to Make History

Six Osceola baseball players are set to make history this season. For the first time in school history, Osceola participating in baseball. Osceola Activities Director Evan Feezell said that discussions started back in the fall about whether the school wanted to have a baseball team.

Area teams Compete at Concordia Invite

Concordia Invite (Class C) Prairie Division Shelby-Rising City and Cross County competed in the indoor meet at Concordia during the class C (Prairie Division) Friday late afternoon and evening. Shelby-Rising City girls had a great day, ending up as the runner-up team with 74 points.

Area Athletes Receive CRC Honors

Polk County basketball players are beginning to see postseason honors roll in. The Crossroads All-Conference teams were announced earlier this week. The boys all-conference first team features Osceola senior Isaiah Zelasney and junior Kale Gustafson.

Gustafson: 'I Want to be Greatest Rebounder in the State'

OSCEOLA — It wasn’t the ending Osceola was looking for, but the Bulldogs have a lot to be proud of this season. Multiple school records fell this year. This season was a breakout season for Kale Gustafson. “Kale is amazing!” Osceola coach Jason Zelasney said.

Bulldogs Upset at State

LINCOLN — It all comes down to free throws. This has been the story for Osceola boys almost all season. They have a hard time hitting free throws. In the beginning they hit a few, and then by the end of the game, they make more of them.

OSCEOLA — The Osceola community came together to celebrate a piece of history on Sunday. Nearly 250 people packed the Osceola City Auditorium as the boys basketball team prepares to go to Lincoln this week to compete for the Class D-2 State Title.
