Each week during the school year, the Polk County News will select a male and female Athlete of the Week. This week since there were no male competitions we are limiting it to just one female.
The Osceola boys basketball team is heading back to State for the third year in a row. Osceola defeated Friend 64-45 at home on Monday to punch their ticket to Lincoln. The Bulldogs will have to wait and see who they play next week. PCN photo by Rick Holtz

Each week during the school year, the Polk County News will select a male and female Athlete of the Week. This week we wanted to recognize two male athletes and two female athletes.
Though he does not attend a Polk County high school, Shelby resident Grady Romshek, a senior at Aquinas Catholic in David City, stood tall as the Class D 106-pound champion. Also on the podium with him was Shelby-Rising City's Owen Krafka, who finished third, and High Plains' Levi Russell, who finished sixth. PCN photo by Beth Sparrow
