OSCEOLA — In the heavyweight hoops battle for Polk County supremacy, round one went to the Bulldogs in what could well be the first of two battles this month.

Area Wrestlers in Action at Weekend Invitationals

Area wrestlers were in action over the weekend at Cross County/Osceola traveled to the Malcom Invite. High Plains participated in the Manstedt Boys & Girls Invites. Shelby-Rising City participated in the Aquinas Invitational.

Lady Cougars Score a Win Against Lady Bulldogs

OSCEOLA — The Lady Cougars made the short trip to Osceola on a snowy Tuesday evening for some basketball before the official start of the second semester. Both teams had a slow start, so maybe their holiday food was making them a bit sluggish.

D-2 No. 3 Dawgs Fall to C-2 No. 10 Crusaders

GRAND ISLAND — There were a number of top teams competing for the title in the Grand Island Central Catholic Holiday Tournament, starting with the host team, Class C-2 No. 10 GICC, C-2 champ two years ago, and runner-up last year. Then there is O’Neil St.

No. 2 Dawgs Stay Unbeaten

HAMPTON — The Osceola Bulldogs once again used a strong start to gain control of their game versus Hampton and took down the Hawks 64-47. With the win the Dawgs raised their record to 3-0, but on defense gave up their most points of the season.

No Slowing Bulldog Offense

HAMPTON — The Osceola Bulldogs girls basketball team traveled to Hampton last Friday Dec. 9 and remained unbeaten with a 45-30 victory. Rori Wieseman Addison Theis First year head coach Brett Webster has the girls playing solid defense as they improved to 3-0 on the young season.
