Bulldogs, Huskies Face Off in First Round

YORK — The Osceola and Shelby-Rising City girls were seeded to play each other in the Crossroads Conference tournament on Saturday. They had not yet played each other in regular season, as they are scheduled for Feb. 10 in Shelby.

Huskies See 2 Champs Crowned at David City

Justin Knoll DAVID CITY — Shelby-Rising City had two champions at the David City Invite over the weekend. The Huskies finished third with 111 points. Millard West was the top placing team with 152 points. Collin Vrbka went a perfect 5-0 on the day at 220 pounds.

Bulldogs Fall to Mustangs Ahead of CRC Play

Rori Wieseman OSCEOLA — The Osceola girls hosted McCool Junction in a regular season matchup last Friday, Jan. 20. The Lady Bulldogs played tough but lost 50-32. Osceola would lead at halftime 20-17, but were outscored 33-12 in the second half of the 18 point loss.

Bulldogs Top Mustangs Heading into CRC Play

OSCEOLA — In their last game before the CRC Conference Tournament, the top seeded Osceola Bulldogs would host a very tough 10-4 McCool Junction Mustangs and they would take control early and then use a big second quarter to take a huge lead and at games end had a 63-37 decision over the Mustangs.

CENTRAL CITY — Records are meant to be broken, some just take longer to break than others. Isaiah Zelasney was four points away from the magic number of 1,418 entering Class D-2 No. 3 Osceola's game at Nebraska Christian. Four points away from tying the school record set by Alan Gissler in 1967.

Osceola Girls Go 2-1, Beat Friend, Giltner

The Osceola girls basketball team had a busy week with three games on the hardwood. After losing at Nebraska Christian 55-26 on Tuesday, Jan. 10, they would pick up wins at Friend 50-18 on Thursday and then at home against Giltner, 48-20, on Friday.

Osceola Celebrates ‘Bulldog for a Game’

Osceola girls and boys basketball teams recently were joined on the bench by Gracyn Schrier and Braxton Borer as part of the 'Bulldog for a Game' event. The two smaller Bulldogs were on the bench when Osceola took on Giltner on Friday. Both the boys and girls came away with victories.

CRC Basketball Field Set

YORK — The field is set and the teams know their path to Crossroads Conference Glory. On the boys’ side, fans could be staring down an Osceola-Cross County rematch of Jan 3’s 65-59 Bulldog win.
