The library will host Story Hour on May 13 at 4:00. All children between Pre-k and 2nd Grade are invited to join us for stories, crafts and treats.The library Book Club will meet at 5:00 May 18. We are discussing Where the Coyotes Howl by Sandra Dallas.

NDCS teammates honored at annual awards ceremony

LINCOLN – The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) honored 38 team members today at the agency’s annual awards ceremony, recognizing exceptional contributions that advanced public safety, rehabilitation, and reentry throughout 2025.

Osceola Breaks Ground on New Subdivision

Polk County NewsThe City of Osceola, in partnership with Meadow Ridge Properties, officially broke ground on the Fox Run Subdivision on Wednesday, April 29th, marking a major milestone in the community’s long-term efforts to address housing needs and support sustainable growth.

Osceola FFA Alumni Winning Golden Idea Honors Gabel

OSCEOLA - On Friday (May 1st), the Osceola FFA and FFA Alumni had a work day to update the landscape for the Good Samaritan Society.This was the idea of Brenden Gabel and his father, Brian.

REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES VISIT POLK COUNTY

OSCEOLA - Last Monday (the 13th), some politicians visited Polk County and gave their presentation on why they were running and should be elected. About 35 people were in attendance at the Osceola Civic Center.The federal candidates were first, and then state and then local/ county.

OSCEOLA PRESENTS 5 QOV ON VETERANS’ DAY

OSCEOLA - Osceola held Veterans’ Day services on Tuesday, where all veterans were honored. Five were awarded a Quilt of Valor.1. James Langer -- James served in the Army National Guard from 1965-1971. He was stationed at Fort Jackson in South Carolina and Fort Dix in New Jersey.

JONES HONORED IN AUTO RACING HOF

LINCOLN - On Saturday, October 18th the NebraskaAuto Racing Hall of Fame held its annual induction ceremony and banquet with six inductees. Among those was Osceola’s Monty Jones.Jones has significant accomplishments in auto racing, not only in Nebraska but nationwide.

OSCEOLA VOLUNTEERS ROLL UP THEIR SLEEVES FOR FALL CEMETERY CLEAN-UP

OSCEOLA - On Saturday, October 18th, Cemetery Board members Dave Udey, Chris Gabriel, Tim Althouse, Toby Johansen, and Brian Gabel led the efforts for Fall Cemetery Clean-Up alongside FFA Sponsor Korrina Niemann and roughly 20 FFA student volunteers.
