OSCEOLA KICKS OFF HOMECOMING WEEK

OSCEOLA- The Osceola Community Action Group kicked off homecoming in cooperation with Osceola Public School on Sunday night. Food trucks were in the parking lot, along with games and opportunities for visiting.

Love of Comic Books Continues After All These Years

OSCEOLA — Dave Shram has been dealing in comic books for nearly 40 years.Opening his first comic book store in Minneapolis, Minn., in 1986, he moved to York and opened Dave’s Cards and Comics in 1991. His business has moved to an extension of his Osceola home.

OSCEOLA’S 2ND ANNUAL GARDEN TOUR

OSCEOLA - On Saturday, 120 people gathered for Osceola’s second annual garden tours. This is a community event fundraiser for the Osceola Community Action Group.This year four gardens were featured followed by a garden party luncheon.

AUGIE’S AUTOBODY CELEBRATES 30 YEARS

OSCEOLA- In 1995 Augie Goelz opened up Augie’s Auto Body and Repair on State Street in Osceola.On June 14th he will celebrate 30 years of providing service to the area as there will be an Open House and CustomerAppreciation Day from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at his shop located at 221 N State Street.

OSCEOLA - Osceola hosted district track again, and came out as girls’ runner up. They will send nine girls to state, including two relays. Two additional girls will get to go as alternates.

5TH GRADE WAX MUSEUM

OSCEOLA — History came alive in Osceola on Friday as the fifth-grade class unveiled their wax museum.The community was invited to hear from the historical characters directly. The class was tasked with selecting a person, researching that selection and then bringing that person to life.

KEARNEY - The NAMP (Nebraska Association of Meat Processors) holds an annual convention and with that a competition. Hunter Baumert, eighth grader at Osceola Public Schools, entered his bacon this year and won!Baumert is the son of Joe and Sarah Baumert.

Superfan Makes His 50th Trip to Boys State BB

Chances are you’ve seen Gregg Wieseman at the boys state basketball tournament. At least if you’ve been to one of the games in the past 50 years.Wieseman, 65, again is making his annual 75-mile trip from Osceola to Lincoln for the boys tourney, an event he has watched every year since 1975.
