On Friday, April 14, Jeffrey Elementary in Osceola will have its Kindergarten round up starting at 9 a.m. Any student that will be starting Kindergarten in the 2023 - 2024 school year are welcome and should attend.
The Methodist Christian Women were on a mission one recent Tuesday afternoon. Using clothing and jewelry from the Osceola Thrift Shop, as several of the Methodist women also volunteer at the shop, a pop-up boutique appeared in the dining room of the Good Samaritan Center.
The Osceola Library hosted local author, Alena Mentink, for a book signing for her second book which is just released “A Bargain to Keep.” Mentink will be at the Stromsburg Library on April 8, starting at 10:30 a.m., if you missed her in Osceola.
March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer is a disease in which abnormal cells in the body grow out of control. When cancer starts in the colon or rectum, it is called colorectal cancer. Sometimes it is called colon cancer, for short.
The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Osceola, NE, on Wednesday, April 12, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and Monday, April 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

OSCEOLA — There is a new bird overlooking the Osceola Cemetery. A sculpture of an eagle has recently been carved.
The idea came to Elaine Jones as she has seen carvings around. She was at the cemetery at a memorial service and noticed a tree with dead branches.
Matt DeMers and Hayden Lavaley brought home some hardware for Osceola at Class D1 Speech State. Lavaley was the champion for Oral Interpretation of Serious Prose and the runner-up for Oral Interpretation of Poetry. DeMers finished 5th in Entertainment Speaking.
The Osceola Community Players present...Dancing with the (Community) Stars! On April 1, 2023, the Osceola Community Players will host a “Dancing with the (Community) Stars” competition at the Osceola Auditorium to fundraiser for this June’s show.
Osceola students went to Nebraska Lutheran on Monday for conference honor band and choir. Participating were Matt DeMers, Kierra Rutter, Rihanna Ortiz, Braylon Peterson, Bransen Lavaley, Melinn Roberts and Hayden Lavaley.
