Kindergarten Celebrates Thanksgiving

Members of the Osceola Schools kindergarten class celebrated Thanksgiving last week with turkey feathers and a feast with place mats and crafts.

Sharing Christmas from Polk County to the World

OSCEOLA — For the last six years, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola has been a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. These shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, clothes and personal hygiene items may be the only gift a child will receive.

Auxiliary’s Give 10 For Education Project

American Legion Auxiliary President Roxanne Page presented Jeffrey Elementary secretary Nicki Carlson with boxes of Kleenex from the Auxiliary for our Give 10 for Education project.

New Cross Dedicated at Osceola First UMC

During the November 13th worship service this beautiful cross, which adorns the top of the bell tower at the Osceola First United Methodist Church, was dedicated. It was given in memory of Raymie Watts, and Alex and Dorothy Mills.

A recently televised Lincoln, Nebraska newscast addressed “illegal trash burning in Osceola” surely heightening existing concerns amid serious and (recently reported) worsening area drought. Perhaps someone overwhelmed by life challenges was not thinking clearly.

OCAG Meeting

The Osceola Community Action Group will hold their November meeting on Thursday, December 1st at the Osceola Civic Center at 12:30 p.m. Due to Thanksgiving, the meeting has been delayed one week. Please join us for the last meeting of 2022 as we finalize plans for Christmas Downtown.

Christmas Light Contest Returns in Osceola

The Polk County RPPD and Osceola Community Action Group are having a Christmas Light contest. A team of judges will be out on December 16th to pick two winners.
