GUSTAFSON SCORES ANOTHER RECORD

On Friday, Kale Gustafson of Osceola got another school record. He surpassed the school record of career points in basketball. That record was set less than a year ago by his former teammate Isaiah Zelasney. He needed three points on Friday to surpass the points set by Isaiah Zelasney, 1744.

Backpack Program Quietly Serves Families

There are 86 local kids not going hungry this holiday season thanks to the Backpack Program. The Backpack Program, originating in Lincoln, is locally sponsored by A Place At the Table Inc.

Osceola Welcome Sign Project Completed

With the addition of flags, the new welcome sign project has finally been completed. The conversations about a new welcome sign began in 2021, as Osceola’s Q150 celebration was slated for July of 2022.

Coloring Contest Winners

Seventy-seven kids ages 2 through 12 years old turned in coloring sheets for the first Merry Mayor’s Coloring Contest. Mayor Donald Graff drew two names out of the seventy-seven entries to receive $5 in Dawg Dollars. Congratulations to Aydan Alexander and Cruz Tonniges on being the lucky two drawn!

Six veterans were bestowed Quilts of Valor in Osceola on Friday, November 10th at the Veterans Day Service. Here we retell the stories of their service: Steve Johnson served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969. He worked as a Financial Clerk and attained the rank of E-5.
