Golf Scramble to Help Pay Camp

The third annual Dennis Gray Memorial 4-Person Golf Scramble returns at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6 The scramble is at Valley View Golf Course in Central City. Proceeds from the scramble help offset the cost for High Plains students attending summer camps for athletic and other activities.

Greetings from the Polk Senior Center. Hope you all made it through the heat of last week and are enjoying the cooler temperatures we have this week and the rain we had. Congrats to the Polk men, they brought the pool trophy back to Polk on Monday. August is just around the corner.

2022 Polk County Fair

The Polk County Fair is back and better than ever. Throughout the week we will be at the fairgrounds taking pictures and you can find them here. If you are out there feel free to take a picture and email it to us at polkcountynews@yahoo.com and we will add it to the photo gallery.

The deadline has come and gone for incumbents seeking to run for re-election for seats on local village boards in this year’s election cycle. Incumbent candidates had to file their intentions before the end of the business day on Friday.
