STROMSBURG — Monday’s Subdistrict C2-7 opener was an ace fest for Shelby-Rising City, who served up a 25-22, 19-25, 25-22, 25-10 victory over Aquinas Catholic (9-22) and avenged a loss earlier in the season at the David City Invite.

Huskies Offense Stalls Against Titans

HEBRON — It was a tough night at the office for the Huskies.
Shelby-Rising City (5-4) saw its season come to an abrupt end on Thursday in the opening round of the playoffs as Thayer Central (8-1) shutout the Huskies 44-0.
The offense never got going on Thursday.

NSAA Volleyball, Football Championships on Nebraska Public Media

LINCOLN — November brings NSAA State High School Volleyball and Football championships to Nebraska Public Media.
Volleyball championships are Saturday, Nov. 5 with Class D-2 at 9 a.m., followed by Class D-1 at 11 a.m., Class C-2 at 1 p.m., Class C-1 at 3 p.m., Class B at 5 p.m. and Class A at 7 p.

No. 7 Cougars Win Crossroads Conference Title

YORK — It was back and forth all night.
Class C-2 No. 7 Cross County (26-4) defeated Class D-1 No. 5 Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (23-5) on Tuesday night to claim the Crossroads Conference title at the York City Auditorium.
It all came down to the fifth set.
