No. 2 Cougars Stay Perfect, Run Over Huskies in Tune-up

SHELBY — Izaac Dickey has put his share of work in at the Cross County weight room, but while he can squat 400 pounds and bench press 350 pounds in a weight room, he hasn’t been asked to put his team on his back offensively on a football field. Until Friday, that is.

S-RC Elementary Kids are Volleyball Champs

Huskies Rout Wildcats in Blowout

SHELBY — It was complete domination. Shelby-Rising City (5-2) manhandled Cedar Bluffs (1-6) on Friday night from the opening kickoff. The Huskies were solid on all three aspects of the ball — offense, defense and special teams. The offense had little trouble moving the ball.

Fans can expect two big matchups this week

No. 2 Cougars take on No. 6 Patriots STROMSBURG — Friday has been circled on Cougars fans’ calendars for weeks. It is a battle of unbeaten teams when Class D-1 No. 6 Clarkson/Leigh (6-0) comes to town to take on Class D-1 No. 2 Cross County (6-0). Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Huskies top Warriors in five sets

SHELBY — Shelby-Rising City battled all night, pulling out a five-set win Schuyler. It was a night of trading sets. The Huskies dropped the first and third sets, 25-18 and 25-16. They won the second and forth, 25-11 and 25-20, to force a fifth set.

Teams learn path to CRC crown

YORK — The path to a Crossroads Conference Championship is now known. The bracket for the volleyball conference tournament was released on Wednesday. Cross County drew the top seed and will have a bye to the second round on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5 p.m.
