Shelby Fire & Rescue Announces Award Winners

Shelby Fire & Rescue held it’s annual awards night on Sunday. The awards were presented by President Gene Schlesinger, Fire Chief Jon Eller and EMT Captain Denise Humlicek. Jared Whitmore was named Firefighter of the Year. Larry Tworek received the Community Service Award.

Shelby Middle School Runner Up at Quiz Bowl

SRC Middle School finished as runners-up at the David City Quiz Bowl with a 7-2 record. The second SRC team finished just behind with a 6-3 record.

Children’s Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Osceola, NE, on Wednesday, April 12, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and Monday, April 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. An appointment is required.

Quilt of Valor Work Day Set for April 1 at Legion

Stars, Stripes, and Stitches QoV group will be working at the Shelby Legion Post 296 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. Please join us for all or part of the day. We will be finishing up the 10 quilt kits for the Quilts of Valor 4-H workshop to be held April 10.

Malcolm Middle School Music Contest

FFA Members Demonstrate for the School Board

Moms in Prayer Covers Schools in Prayer Weekly

A local group of moms and grandmas meet in homes and churches to pray over our schools. Moms in Prayer International is a global ministry with praying groups in over 150 countries, with the booklet translated into 67 languages.
