Area Students Qualify for Speech State

Polk County speech teams are heading to Kearney for the State speech meet this week. Cross County (C1) and Shelby-Rising City (C2) will compete on Thursday, while High Plains (D1) and Osceola (D1) will compete on Friday. All competition will take place at Kearney High School.

SRC Students Travel to East Coast for WorldStrides Spring Break Trip

SHELBY — A group of 17 Shelby-Rising City juniors and seniors have returned home from a Spring Break trip that took them through different periods in American History. The group left Tuesday, March 7 and did not return until Sunday, March 12.
