Everyone is welcome to come out on Valentine's Day to hear the musical performance of Ms. Hyde's music classes for grades 3-5 at Shelby-Rising City Schools. Please arrive at the Shelby Senior Center by 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 for the 1:15 p.m. performance.

Bypasses May Be Eliminated from 81

LINCOLN — Discussion is picking up regarding the U.S. 81 construction project. The Nebraska State Highway Commission met on Friday in Lincoln and discussed the 40-mile section of U.S. 81 from York to Columbus.

Sen. Hughes: Bill provides 81 project funding

LINCOLN — State Senator Jana Hughes has signed on to a bill that would provide funding for the U.S. Highway 81 improvement project.

Shelby-Rising City Hires Donner as Next Principal

SHELBY — There will be a new face roaming the halls at Shelby-Rising City schools next year. The Shelby-Rising City Board of Education approved the hiring of Marcus Donner as the principal for the high school and middle school.

Junior High Girls Runner-up in CRC

The Shelby-Rising City junior high girls basketball team finished the season as Crossroads Conference runner-up, falling to McCool Junction 19-14 on Saturday in York. The junior high team was cheered on by the high school team, who had a game later in the day in York.
