Bayer Donated $5k to Shelby-Rising City

SHELBY— Local farmer Doug Moon recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America’s Farmers Grow Communities donation to Shelby-Rising City Public Schools FFA Program. SRC’s FFA program will use the funds to Bovine Breeder artificial insemination simulator.

Santa Visits Shelby

The Shelby Community Library hosted Santa and Mrs. Claus last Wednesday evening. Kids were invited to sit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, tell them what they wanted, and pick up a cookie and cocoa provided by Cubby’s. Due to rising costs of gas and postage, subscription prices are going up as of January 1st. An annual subscription in Nebraska will be $40 (an increase of $5) and out of Nebraska will be $45 (also an increase of $5). This is still a great deal, and more comparable to other newspapers our size.

Shelby-Rising City FFA Qualifies for State

Shelby-Rising City FFA students are heading to State. SRC had 23 students compete in the District LDE Contests in Clarkson. Alexa Carter, Rylie Carter and Aubree Siffring were runner-up in Ag Demo. Aurora Slusarski was runner-up in Senior Public Speaking. Kaylei Ruth was runner-up in Ag Literacy.
