SRC Dance Team is Statebound

The SRC Dance Team will be competing at the State Dance competition Friday, February 16th in Grand Island at the Heartland Event Center. They compete in their Pom routine at 7:54 pm and their Hip-Hop routine at 9:26pm.

World Marriage Day Honored

Eleven couples celebrated World Marriage Day on February 11th at Sacred Heart Church in Shelby. Father Andrew Litt officiated. Honored couple was Roger & Christi Smith, who will celebrate 25 years of marriage this year.

Spelling Bee Champions Crowned Monday

OSCEOLA - Polk County held the annual spelling bee on Monday. All four schools participated. Each school sent about five participants per grade level. Approximately 31 fifth and sixth graders competed in the morning. After five rounds, the first eight were eliminated.

BRAINARD - Eleven boys’ wrestling teams made the trip to East Butler to compete in conference wrestling. The Crossroads conference only has six wrestling teams, so five more were invited to fill out the tourney and make it more competitive.
