Cross County boys get a big win over Meridian

The Cougars traveled to Daykin to take on the Meridian Mustangs last Friday. The first quarter went well with the Cougars scoring 15 points to the Mustangs’ 10. Meridian had some trouble in the second quarter only scoring 6 points to the Cougars’ 12, leaving a half time score of 27-16 with the Cougars leading. Cross County was really fired up after half time, putting in 25 points in the third quarter to Meridian’s 4. A lead of 32 points allowed some of the Cougar starters some rest in the fourth quarter. The Mustangs were still outscored by 8 points for a final score of 68-28.

Leading scorers were Alex Noyd putting in 20 points, including shooting 100% on three 3-pointers, and Cory Hollinger adding 16 points. Hollinger also grabbed 10 rebounds, with his brother Tanner adding seven.
