The Lady Cougars traveled to Daykin to play the Mustangs last Friday. It started as a close contest with Meridian putting up ten points to the Cougars’ nine in the first quarter. Chloe Sandell put in most of the Cougars’ points that quarter. The second quarter looked a lot like the first with the same amount of points being added, making the halftime score 20-18 with the Mustangs ahead.
The Cougars were outplayed in the third quarter by the Mustangs. Then they tried to come back in the fourth, but came up a bit short by a final score of 39-46.
High scorers for the Cougars were Lilly Peterson with 17 and Chloe Sandell adding 9. Peterson pulled down 9 rebounds, with Bricelynn Larson grabbing five.
