The Malcolm Clippers came to Stromsburg to play good basketball. The first half they came out storming putting up 16 points to the Cougars eight. The Lady Cougars also struggled in the second quarter only putting up 7 points to Malcolm’s 17, giving a half time score of 15-35.
Malcolm’s Alyssa Fortik put up most of their points, and the Cougars just couldn’t seem to figure out how to stop her. She had 22 of their points, about 63% of the team points in the first half.
The second half the Cougars improved a little putting in 4 baskets in the third quarter and two free throws for eight points. However Malcolm answered with fourteen points, including two 3-pointers. The Cougars didn’t give up but were outplayed by the Clippers with a final score of 60-34.
Lilly Peterson had 10 points and 5 rebounds for the Cougars, with Chloe Sandell adding 9 points and 4 rebounds. Shyanne Anderson had a 100% free throw game, putting in all four of four.
