Brodey SpurlingHigh Plains’ Brodey Spurling was one of the top three-sport athletes in the state. He will be following his love for the game of basketball to Doane University next fall. He averaged 15.7 points and 6.5 rebounds and was top 10 in most all of the other categories.

Crossroads Conference vs. Goldenrod Conference Boys Basketball All-Star Game

OSCEOLA- The Cross Conference boys all-star basketball team caught fire in the second half as they outscored the Goldenrod All-Stars 48-32 en-route to the 71-61 win at Osceola High School on Sunday.This game was much closer than the CRC’s 124-78 blowout win last year.

COLUMBUS- Central Community College will no longer have girls and boys basketball all-star games as they have decided to go a different direction.Instead they will be announcing the top 10 selections in each boys and girls basketball and volleyball and they will receive a commemorative medallion.

SOS REBELS HIT HOME SOIL FOR 9-6 WIN OVER VALPARAISO

OSCEOLA- After opening the season on a three game road swing the Pinnacle Bank Shelby-Osceola-Stromsburg Rebels were on home soil for the first time this year as Valparaiso visited the Rebels in Osceola.

STATE TRACK AND FIELD CLASS C AND D BOYS

OMAHA- The Polk County area sent just two boys in Class D and three boys in Class D.After two days of competition in Class D, High Plains senior Brodey Spurling posted the top two performances as he placed fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 43-7.
