The 2026 high school football season will begin on Friday, August 28 for the local teams.This year will be quite different from last season as the High Plains Storm, eight-man in 2025, will be joining the ranks of the six-man class for the 2026 season and beyond.

SIX-MAN FOOTBALL- WHERE SPEED IS KINGPOLK- In 1934 in Chester, NE the six-man football game was born.Stephen Epler created a game where more smaller schools could still play football with less players.There were only a few adjustments to the rules of the regular game.

SOS Senior Rebels Season Ends at Area C-5 in St. Paul

ST. PAUL-There is no tomorrow this time of year, unless you make today count.The SOS Senior Rebels were still in the hunt for an Area C-5 District title at Grover Cleveland Alexander Field in St. Paul, but were in a position where they had to win three games, starting with Ord on Monday.
