DAVID CITY – Ella Clark was back after injury and helped propel the Lady Cougars to a 10-point win against David City, 50-40.The whole game wasn’t a guaranteed Cougar win, as the Scouts did almost catch up.

STROMSBURG- The 2026 Cross County Bob Osborn Invitational took place on Saturday at Cross County High School with 17 schools competing for the team title and individual bracket championships.TheAmherst Broncos took home the team title with a score of 206 points, second was David City with 182.

SHELBY-All three local girls wrestling teams made the trek to Colfax County in Schuyler on Friday for action at the Warriors Invite.Lexington took home the team title with 213.5 points, Blair was second with 188.5 and rounding out the top there teams was Lakeview with 153.5.

POLK-One team was looking to get to 500 for the season and the other was looking to stay above the break even line.High Plains took the lead in the first quarter 17-12 and led up to the middle of the third quarter before the two teams ended up in a 41-41 tie through regulation.

Pick Six-ing the Last Six Years-Eight-Man Football in Polk County

There is no other way to put it, 8-man Football in Polk County over the last six years has been phenomenal. Osceola High-Plains in their two year Co-op in 2018 and 2019 went a combined 16-7 and won a D-1 State Championship.
