DWIGHT- A long week of baseball got started on Tuesday night in Dwight with the Shelby- Osceola-Stromsburg Senior Rebels scoring in every inning on their way to a 14-6 win over the Dwight Seniors and ended Sunday night with a 20-2 win at Ravenna.Sandwiched in between was a 4-3 win at Valparaiso.

When I played Little League Baseball way back in the late 60’s and then in the early 70’s Pony and Legion, we didn’t have much of anything else to do.I love the game. I’m probably one of very few who can sit and watch a game from first pitch to last.

Centennial All-Star Games highlight mid-week slate

UTICA-The all-star games are winding down and in a few weeks the official end will come for all high school seniors who can finally wrap up their high school playing days.The last all-star game featuring the best of the best in the state will take place July 21 at Bowlin Stadium for softball.

SOS Juniors enter home stretch 2-8

The SOS (Shelby-Osceola- Stromsburg) Juniors had a rough start to the year losing their first seven games.This past Tuesday night in Dwight they found some offense as they stroked 14 hits and posted the 15-0 win ti improve to 1-7.

CCC Boys All-Star Game All Green

COLUMBUS- It was a battle of CRC coaches Thursday night at the 44th Annual Central Community College Boys All-StarGame at the Raider Fieldhouse on the CCC campus.McCool Junction’s Jabe Wurtz led the Green Team while East Butler’s Matt Novak coached the Silver Team.

Central Community College Raiders host Girls All-Star Basketball

COLUMBUS- One last fling.A lot of the girls who played in Thursday night’s 44th Central Community College All-Star Basketball Game at the Raider Fieldhouse on the CCC campus on Thursday night were closing a chapter in their life.
