An amazing old picture album came to my attention recently, and it is just the kind of thing to get your juices flowing if you are anything like me. It was mainly a pictorial account of an auto trip to the Colorado mountains made sometime around or before 1910.

The school board held their monthly board meeting on Monday, April 10th. The board approved the updated Math Curriculum, Policy 6004 – Curriculum Development and the Future Ready District Technology Profile for the 23-24 school year. The BOE approved a teaching contract for Mrs.

Stromsburg Doubles Ambulance Salaries

STROMSBURG — The city council in Stromsburg voted to give ambulance officers a 100 percent pay increase. They doubled their monthly pay. Currently the chief receives $100 a month, assistant $70 a month, president $50 a month, secretary/treasurer $70 a month and training officer $50 a month.

Polk County Celebrates Cancer Survivors at Luncheon

OSCEOLA — The Polk County Health Department hosted a lunch for cancer survivors last Wednesday at the Polk County Fairgrounds. Darla Winslow, director of the health department gave the welcoming comments. She stated it’s been five years since their last lunch, due to COVID.

Egg Hunt is Saturday

The third annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 8 starting at 11 a.m. at Buckley Park. The Easter bunny is scheduled to make an appearance. There will be free hot dogs and chips, and games.
