Turkey Winners Come From Clarks, Osceola, Shelby and Stromsburg

Sixteen families are feasting on turkeys this holiday season after winning a free turkey in the Polk County News Turkey Giveaway. More than 160 entries were submitted into the contest this year. Readers were given a chance to cutout the entry form and return it to 16 locations around Polk County.

OSCEOLA — For the last six years, St. Paul Lutheran Church in Osceola has been a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. These shoeboxes filled with toys, school supplies, clothes and personal hygiene items may be the only gift a child will receive.

FCCLA Students Recognized at State

Ava Pruter (left) and Ella Cramer (right) were recognized at the Nebraska State Capital for their excellence in FCCLA. They received second place for their professional oral presentation about issues concerning Family and Consumer Sciences or related occupations.

Senior Center

Here we are in the week of Thanksgiving. Everyone at our Senior Center sends their Happy Thanksgiving Greetings to you. Enjoy the Thanksgiving fun, food and getting together with family and friends. Turkey and dressing and pumpkin pie sound delicious or whatever foods you enjoy.

Christmas at the Senior Center

Come celebrate Christmas, Sunday, December 11th, with coffee and doppe at the Viking Center hosted by the Stromsburg Senior Center. Doors open at 2 PM—with a 50-minute program to follow of wit and songs at 2:20 by PruDense.

CC Robotics Teams Shine on Home Court

STROMSBURG — Saturday Cross County hosted a Vex robotics tournament. Thirty-three teams participated from all over Nebraska.
