Cross County Prepares for Homecoming

STROMSBURG — Cross County is ready for tonight's Homecoming game against McCool Junction. The schools has been preparing for tonight's game all week with spirit activities. The final stop before the big game tonight was trips to Benedict and Stromsburg for the Homecoming Parade.

Lindburg wins $5,000 raffle

Last Friday night at football game, we drew for the $5,000 Cash for Camps raffle stub! Angie Lindburg was the lucky winner! Thank you to EVERYONE who participated. This was the Cash for Camp's big fundraiser that keeps the engine going and supporting all these kids at camps!

Stromsburg Celebrates 150 Years

STROMSURG — This last weekend, Stromsburg celebrated their 150th year. The town was founded in the fall of 1872 by Lewis Headstrom. Saturday kicked off with an art show and Swedish steel vendors. Food trucks lined 4th street across from businesses. Dan Cramer’s band, Birdfoot played from 11 a.m .
The 2022 Homecoming candidates were announced. TEN YEARS AGO September 6, 2012 Polk County 4-H member, Cale Pallas, was selected as one of the top 20 award winners in the 4-H Science competition. His exhibit showcased science by building a custom fishing rod. He was awarded a $100 prize.
