Shelby-RC and Osceola Look at Co-Op for Girls Basketball

SHELBY - Our local schools are facing what many Nebraska schools are, a decrease in girls wanting to play girls basketball. Club volleyball has become more popular.Shelby-Rising City met in open and public session on Monday night.

This somehow didn't get on the Osceola page this week:Our apologies to Osceola Fire and Rescue for last week’s post. Tanker 41 did not get painted; it was being detailed. It’s not an existing firetruck but rather a new one they are getting. This is a betterment of a truck that is being replaced.

Nebraska Supreme Court Justices to Visit

OSCEOLA - Each year the Nebraska Supreme Court judges visit an area of Nebraska. This year they are visiting north central Nebraska, 16 counties in three days. They come to visit with court staff and community members.

Osceola Community Play “After Hours”

OSCEOLA - Sunday was Osceola’s annual community play. This year they did “After Hours”, a play written by Wendy Hamilton. It was directed by Jenni Erhart and featured a cast of 12 local thespians.
Each year the Osceola Legion Auxiliary recognizes a person or family and a business for faithfully flying the flag. This year’s recipients were Jimmy Marak (left), who is 97 years young and has been flying his for 7 years after he received it for his 90th birthday. Friend Helps Friend Out as Surrogate

OSCEOLA - Some women have trouble having a baby. Many women are infertile, or have issues with fibroids and cysts. Michelle (Wilgocki) Martin is one of those women. She had a hysterectomy early in life, so she couldn’t birth a baby. However she had her eggs frozen about five years ago.

 TEN YEARS AGO May 19, 2016Osceola FFA State Degree Recipients were Mary Kate Steele, Bennett Nelson, Rob Buhl and Riley Girard. On April 8th they received their State Degree during the Convention at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.
