Cougars Fall at State to Warriors, 49-27

LINCOLN — Cross County Lady Cougars took their first trip to state in over fifteen years. Most of the girls on this team weren’t born when the Lady Cougars last played in Lincoln. In March 2006, the Lady Cougars finished 23-2 and were runner up.

Cougars Win Subdistrict, Bulldogs Earn Wildcard

Osceola 66, St. Francis 63 LINCOLN — The old saying, the third times a charm, didn’t apply to the Osceola Bulldogs this past week as for the third straight year they would meet the Parkview Christian Patriots in the subdistrict finals and once again would fall to them, 71-58.

Cougars Dominate Titans in Subdistrict Opener

STROMSBURG — Ashton Seim scored 17 points and Cross County scored the game’s first 11 points to end suspense early during a 72-36 victory Tuesday over Twin River in a C2-8 subdistrict semifinal contest at the Cougars’ gym.

8 Area Wrestlers Return with Medals

OMAHA — Polk County was well-represented at the CHI Health Center Arena in Omaha. County schools sent 12 wrestlers and eight found themselves on the medal stand on Saturday.   SRC: Justin Knoll (160 pounds) would first wrestle Varner of Hemingford and pinned him in 3:13.
