STROMSBURG — Anything can happen in the postseason. Class C-2 No. 7 Cross County advanced to Tuesday’s C2-7 subdistrict championship match with a three set win over county-rival Shelby-Rising City, 25-23, 25-17, 25-11.

LINCOLN — November brings NSAA State High School Volleyball and Football championships to Nebraska Public Media. Volleyball championships are Saturday, Nov. 5 with Class D-2 at 9 a.m., followed by Class D-1 at 11 a.m., Class C-2 at 1 p.m., Class C-1 at 3 p.m., Class B at 5 p.m. and Class A at 7 p.

No. 7 Cougars Win Crossroads Conference Title

YORK — It was back and forth all night. Class C-2 No. 7 Cross County (26-4) defeated Class D-1 No. 5 Bruning-Davenport/Shickley (23-5) on Tuesday night to claim the Crossroads Conference title at the York City Auditorium. It all came down to the fifth set.

No. 2 Cougars Stay Perfect, Run Over Huskies in Tune-up

SHELBY — Izaac Dickey has put his share of work in at the Cross County weight room, but while he can squat 400 pounds and bench press 350 pounds in a weight room, he hasn’t been asked to put his team on his back offensively on a football field. Until Friday, that is.
