HPC Girls Pull Out Win Over Neb. Lutheran

POLK – The High Plains girls played an early game against Nebraska Lutheran in hopes to get it done before the next big snowstorm. The girls did “get ‘er done”, with a win over the Lady Knights 46-39. The Knights brought height with six-foot senior, Marissa Endorf.

Three Storm Wrestlers Place at Home Meet

COLUMBUS - High Plains hosted their wrestling invitational over the weekend with 24 teams participating in the boys’ competition. The Norm Manstedt Invite was held at Central Community College in Columbus. The host team placed 12th with 66 points, the second highest for Class D.

HPC Girls’ Bench Played Big Minutes in Win

POLK — The game was not as close as the scoreboard showed at the end of the game. High Plains cruised to a 50-40 win over Hampton on Thursday. The Storm jumped out to a quick start and used a frustrating defense to force the Hawks into numerous turnovers.

LORALIE LOGAN Loralie Logan is in her first season of wrestling and placed third at both the HPC girls’ meet and the Malcolm meet. WYATT URKOSKI Wyatt Urkoski (HPC) remains undefeated this season in wrestling at 24-0.

Storm Boys Get the Win With a Big Finish

POLK — The Storm used a big fourth quarter to run away from the Hawks on their way to a 53-38 win. The Storm limited the Hawks to four points in the third quarter as they expanded their lead. High Plains scored 22 points in the final eight minutes of action to secure their seventh win on the year.

Three Girls Place in Wrestling Meets

COLUMBUS - Blue River wrestled twice, at the High Plains Invite at Central Community College in Columbus, and at the Malcolm Invite. Two Shelby-Rising City girls (Turpitt and Logan) placed in Columbus and Logan also placed in Malcolm. For High Plains, Dakota Gress placed 5th in Columbus.

Lady Storm Brings Home Tourney Trophy

BRAINARD – The girls took two trips to East Butler for the holiday tourney. They brought home the trophy after two wins, over Cedar Bluffs and East Butler. The Lady Storm took the early lead over Cedar Bluffs, getting thirteen points to the Wildcats’ five in the first quarter.

High Plains Boys Take 2nd at Holiday Tourney

BRAINARD – First the High Plains boys took on D1 Cedar Bluffs (2-7). They weren’t much of a challenge for the Storm with the Storm victorious in a 53-30 win. That took them to the championship game against the D2 undefeated Walthill Bluejays. The Storm came up short 74-57.
