Celebrating Nebraska’s Birthday with Free Admission State Historic Sites

Lincoln - Nebraska is 159 years old on Statehood Day, March 11. To help Nebraskans celebrate, admission is free Saturday, February 28, at the Nebraska History Museum and other state historic sites thanks to the Nebraska State Historical Society Foundation.Family-friendly festivities begin at 9 a.m.

Gary Noyd Benefit

A benefit to help Gary Noyd with medical expenses related to his cancer diagnosis will be Saturday, Feb. 28th from 12 noon to 5 PM at the Viking Center in Stromsburg.A meal will be served with a free will donation offering.

Swedish Festival

The Swedish Festival committee will meet Thursday, February 26th at 7 PM at the Stromsburg Library. All are welcome!

Pinewood Derby

The Stromsburg Cub Scout Pack 241 Pinewood Derby will be held Saturday, February 28, at the Evangelical Covenant Church. Check in begins at 9:30, racing at 10. Members of the public are welcome to attend and cheer for our Cub Scouts.

Strategic trail ride changes made at select state parks

To strategically improve efficiencies and manage resources across the Nebraska state park system, guided horse trail rides have been discontinued at Ponca State Park and Chadron State Park.Nebraska Game and Parks will continue offering trail rides at Fort Robinson, Platte River, Eugene T.
