ATV Accident Takes Life of One

ATV/Pedestrian accident 1 mile south of highway 66 on County Road C happened in Polk County on Thursday, November 6th about 5:18 pm. According to Polk County Sheriff Ladwig, the driver of the ATV was Nicholas Rodine, age 42, of Polk.

It’s definitely November, though the weather is milder than it could be. Driving through Stromsburg one sees several colorful trees, the only problem is it doesn’t last long! Yet it is a beautiful reminder of God’s creation and the beauty only He can create.

One-Act Season Begins

One-Act has begun as auditions started in August, and students have been practicing their parts. First competitions started Saturday. Osceola and Cross County were at Loup City. Cross County came in second (runner up) with Lily Cramer named best supporting actress.

LINCOLN – Monday, Governor Jim Pillen announced his appointment of Joey Spellerberg to the position of state treasurer. Spellerberg fills a vacancy due to the departure of Tom Briese, who is resigning to spend more time with his family.

JONES HONORED IN AUTO RACING HOF

LINCOLN - On Saturday, October 18th the NebraskaAuto Racing Hall of Fame held its annual induction ceremony and banquet with six inductees. Among those was Osceola’s Monty Jones.Jones has significant accomplishments in auto racing, not only in Nebraska but nationwide.
