Ostkaka Classes

Ostkaka classes will be taught on Saturday, June 7th at 10 AM. Plan on the class taking a little over one hour as the process of both beginning a new batch and putting the first bach in the oven is taught.

Monday evening the Stromsburg Woman’s Club enjoyed an interesting program given by Kathryn Larson of Aurora on Swedish painting known as KURBITS. Kathryn shared examples of the different forms of the artwork and explained the meanings of the designs and regions where they originated. On Friday, June 20th, 2025, at the Swedish Festival, Past Swedish Festival Attendants will be honored as the “2025 Swedish Festival Honorary Swede Group” at the evening program.

I believe most are familiar with the story of Pandora’s Box, but I doubt anyone expects to experience the feeling of having opened it! Yet such became the recent occurrence at this household, upon discovering some unexpected items on our front porch.

Pedicure Clinic

Pedicure clinics will be held at the Polk County Health Department the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Please call the health department at 402-747-2211 to make an appointment.

Osceola Class of 1955

spoke and congratulated the Class of 2025. She also introduced members of the Class of 1955 (70 years). She told of some high school memories. The evening was spent visiting and taking pictures.

Osceola Pool Opens May 30

The Osceola pool will open Friday, May 30th, weather permitting. Mae Valish and Emma Recker are managers.Hours are 1-7 PM daily with water aerobics from 12:15-12:45 Monday to Friday. Daily admission is $5 with a season pass for $75 for an individual and $110 for a family.
