Southeast Comm. College Releases Deans List

Southeast Community College released the names of 3,076 students who earned a spot on the Dean’s List and 918 degrees conferred for the 2024 Fall Semester which ended on Dec. 13, 2024.A student must complete at least six semester credit hours in the term with a minimum grade-point average of 3.

STROMSBURG - On Thursday, author Jefferson Knapp came to give two presentations at Cross County Schools. The first one he gave right after lunch to elementary kids, and the second followed to the middle schoolers.He first talked about his generation. He is generation X, or the MTV generation.

Snow fell last Wednesday, and again on Monday, adding up to over 8 inches in the area. Monday 5-6 inches were received in the area. Actual temperatures Monday night were about -10 with wind chill of -25. Pictured: Osceola has winter traffic circles (roundabouts) when they pile the snow in the middle of an intersection. The SRC Floriculture team placed second which qualified them for state. Pictured are Hayden Reznicek, Jessica Bauers, Nicole Martensen, Alaina Andel, Kreyten Zimmerman, Leah Whitmore, Kaleigh Ruth and Olivia Frederick. Overall they got a purple ribbon with Whitmore and Andel receiving blue. Photo provided.

Spring Health Fair at AJMCHC

Every year as spring approaches, area farmers begin gearing up by having their farm machinery inspected before planting season gets into “full swing”. Both the AKRS and AGCO facilities see a flurry of activity just after the first of the year.

Feels like winter has returned. Would welcome moisture but without the ice.Bridge winners Monday were Myrla Grossnicklaus, Kathy Reif and Bonnie Augustin.Seven people enjoyed Dominoes on Thursday.Students from 3rd, 4th and 5th grades will be signing at the Senior Center on Friday, Feb.
