The 2024-25 cheer/dance squad was announced. Seniors will be Jordyn Donner (dance captain) and Katelyn Nekl (cheer captain). They will be joined by junior Kendall Nickolite, sophomores Olivia Frederick, Charlie Thompson and Leah Whitmore and freshmen Madison Augustin, Adelynn Favors, Ashlyn Long, Brooklyn Sumner, Vienna Thelen and Anisha Ibarra Vallejo. Weather Awareness Week will be coming up on March 24-31. The Shelby Fire and Rescue Squad will be doing another siren drill in conjunction with Shelby-Rising City Public Schools on March 25th. There will be another test on Wednesday, March 27th, in conjunction with the state wide siren testing.

The Shelby Easter Egg Hunt will be at the Shelby Ball Park on Wednesday, March 27, starting at 6:00 p.m. The Egg Hunt is open to children ages Preschool through 3rd Grade. There will be an opportunity to take pictures with the Easter Bunny.

New Cabins Available at State Parks

New cabins will be available for year-to-date reservations at Eugene T. Mahoney and Platte River state parks starting March 25. Starting at 9 a.m. Central time, bookings will open at Mahoney State Park for three cabins, which are an addition to the existing Governor’s Row cabins.

CC Robotics Compete at VEX US Open

Three Cross County teams attended the US Open for the Vex side on March 13-15. This is a huge tournament that included 139 teams from all over the world including the two top ranked teams divided into four divisions.
