Lightning Hits Shelby

Shelby fire chief Jon Eller reported the Shelby Fire and Shelby Ambulance were dispatched to the east Central Valley Ag elevator in Shelby for a lightning strike on Friday morning, July 7th. This is where a new elevator is being built. The Polk County Sheriff's office was also on scene.

Gresham Softball 10U and 14U will play at home Thursday, July 6th, at 6:00 and 7:30 p.m. Monthly Senior Dinner will be Monday, July 10th, at noon at the Community Center. Centennial Board of Education will meet Monday, July 10th, at 8 p.m.

While there are certain holidays like Christmas and Easter that are definitely “religious” holidays, the 4th of July celebrating America’s Independence is not. So should Christians celebrate non-religious holidays? Of course, but we should still guard our faith.
