Calvary Lutheran Church Kicks Off 150-Year Celebration

Calvary Lutheran Church at Swede Home kicked off their 150th celebration with a concert by Nebraska Brass and a reception following with Dana Westring. Pastor Evan Christensen welcomed everyone. Nebraska Brass is a brass quintet out of Lincoln which was formed in 1987.

Legion Birthday Dinner Held in Gresham

The Gresham American Legion Auxiliary honored Shirley Richter recently for 60 years of continuous membership. Also recognized was Carla Schumacher for 35 years of membership. The Auxiliary hosted a Birthday dinner for the American Legion members and the Sons of the Legion at the Dey Warehouse.

His Kids Celebrates Final Week of Year

Another year of His Kids is in the book. Last week marked the final Wednesday night for the His Kids program at Stromsburg Baptist Church. Each Wednesday between 15 and 20 kids would gather and learn about Jesus, play games, sing songs, have snacks and hear stories.

The Rising City American Legion Auxiliary, John Saylor Unit #146, has selected Aubree Siffring, a junior at Shelby-Rising City High School, to be their 2023 delegate to Nebraska Cornhusker Girls State. Aubree is the daughter of Kevin and Rachel Siffring of Rising City.
