Health Department moving to Stromsburg

STROMSBURG — The Polk County Health Department will soon have a new home. Polk County is in the process of purchasing the old Yungdahl’s Apothecary building in Stromsburg, which is located on the Square at 313 Commercial St. The county is set to close on the building April 1.

Dance Teams Place at State in Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND — Three Polk County cheer and dance teams competed on Friday at the 2023 Nebraska State Cheer and Dance Championships. Cross County, Osceola and Shelby-Rising City were on hand for the competition. And the Dazzlers did not return home empty-handed.

Shelby-Rising City preschool registration begins March 1. Requirements include: Official state certified birth certificate, immunization records, be 3-yearsold by Aug. 1 for the morning class and be 4-years-old by Aug. 1 for the afternoon class.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome any day during office hours.
