Free Concert Coming to Square July 24

STROMSBURG — The Stangl Family is coming to the Stromsburg City Square later this month for a night of music and fun. The family will be in concert at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 24. Stromsburg Baptist Church is the sponsor of the concert. The Stangl family is from Fort Calhoun, Neb.

There is still room for a few more teams for the Stromsburg Volunteer Fire Department’s golf tournament this Saturday at Ryan Hill County Club in Osceola. Contact Zach Oquist at 402- 764-0291 to register. Come have fun and help support a great cause. The cost is $200 per four-person team.

Golf for CC Booster Club

The Cross County Booster Club is gearing up for the 17th annual Golf Tournament and Fund-raiser. Two-person teams can sign-up now for the July 23 scramble at Ryan Hill Country Club. The cost is $60 per person and lunch is included. Players can have a mulligan for $10 per person.

Libraries receive $332k in grants

The Nebraska Library Commission recently awarded Library Improvement Grants for 2022 totaling $332,471 to 74 Nebraska public libraries, a library consortium, and a state-run institutional library.

Almost 50 times a year from 2014 to 2017, drivers could not stay in their lanes. They crossed the median and crashed into oncoming traffic 247 times. These statistics are according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation. West of Lincoln, the median narrows to 64 feet.
