Children’s Immunization Clinics

The Polk County Health Department will hold immunization clinics at the Polk County Health Department, Osceola, NE, on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, and Monday, July 18, 2022, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. An appointment is required for compliance to the COVID-19 directives.

Staying Safe in the Hot Summer Sun

Some people think about sun safety only when they spend a day at the lake, beach, or pool. But sun exposure adds up every time you are in the sun. Children need special care. They tend to spend more time outdoors. They can burn easier, and may not know about the dangers too much sun can cause.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held at the Polk County Health Department in Osceola, every 1st and 3rd Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. No appointment is necessary. Walk-ins are welcome any day during office hours.

Jodi Johnson Named Super Swede

In every community there are people who quietly willingly help out whever they can. In Stromsburg, we call them Super Swedes. Jodi Johnson moved to Stromsburg in 1987. She has been an active part of the Stromsburg community since her arrival. Jodi’s love for her family is evident in all she does.

TEN YEARS AGO June 14, 2012 BRAN (Bike Ride Across Nebraska) stopped in Shelby on Friday, June 8th. Many tents were placed on the football field for the bikers to camp. Olympic gold medalist Curtis Tomasevicz spoke to the 600 bicycle rider who stopped in Shelby (his hometown) Friday evening.
