Keeping Mental Health a Priority

Mental illness is a national public health issue that affects Nebraska as well. During my time as Governor, we’ve made mental health a priority and have rolled out several programs to identify mental illness and get Nebraska’s students, veterans, and others the care they need.

TEN YEARS AGO May 31, 2012 Channer Marsden was the winner of the first one to go down the new slide at the new Stromsburg pool. His reaction was “Wow man, that was fast!” Ryan Berggren uses propane-fueled irrigation engines for his farm because they are cost efficient and durable.

The months do fly by and here we are in the Merry Month of June. The farmers have finished planting their crops, and we have been very fortunate to receive timely rains and now the fields are all turning green once again.

Senior Center

Doctor Tollens, our traveling foot doctor will be at the Viking Center on Friday, June 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for foot care. New patients are always welcome. Be sure to call Judy 764-3950 for an appointment or she will be calling you soon. The month of June has arrived.

The 103rd Donelson Family Reunion was held June 5, 2022 at PK’s Revival in Benedict.

Help Needed to Set Up for Festival

Many hands are needed to help set up for festival. Students involved in weight lifting as well as the football team are asked to help with this project, as well as members of the community. Work starts at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16th.

What Does the Bible Say About Marriage and Relationships?

Come join us for an evening of food, fun, fellowship, and learning as Bob and Sandy Walz present their “Marriage Foundations Class”. Bob has served with the Navigators and is also an elder with Citylight Church. Both Bob and Sandy have mentored many Christians, both young and old.

Anderson Graduates With Honors

Congratulations, McKenna Anderson on graduating Moorhead University with Magna cum laude honors. We are so very proud of the hard work and long hours you put in, in order to achieve this. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. We love you so much, Mom and Dad.

Stromsburg/Cross County Alumni Banquet

The 2022 Stromsburg/Cross County alumni banquet was held on Saturday, May 28th, 2022. The banquet began at 6:30 pm with a welcome from alumni board president, Grant Miller, followed by a prayer from alumni board treasurer, Brian Frazier.

Unfinished Business Plays First Friday

Unfinished Business played the First Friday concert last week on the Square. A large crowd turned out for the entertainment. First Friday will continue in July and August when Acoustic Rooster takes the stage at 6 p.m. July 1 and Bordertown entertains on Aug. 5.
