Gresham High School Alumni Banquet will be held on Saturday, May 28th, 2022 at the Gresham Community Center. Social time will begin at 6:00 p.m. with dinner served at 6:30 p.m. Reservations need to be made by Wednesday, May 18th, 2022.

TEN YEARS AGO May 10, 2012 Shelby-Rising City School presented a musical by middle schoolers. It was titled Seussical Jr. and performances were on May 10th and 11th. Signing letters of intent were two students from Shelby-Rising City Schools.

The Shelby Library Welcomes Author Jonis Agee

Nebraska author Jonis Agee will present a free program, on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 3:45 pm. Her novel “The Bones of Paradise,” is the 2022 One Book, One Nebraska selection.

Help Needed for Memorial Weekend Activities

Shelby Legion Post 296 is asking for community help with memorial weekend activities. The Legion members will be working at the cemetery Thursday May 26 at 6:00 p.m. They will be preparing all the holes for the flags for the avenue of flags. Saturday May 28, at 9:00 a.m.

TEN YEARS AGO May 10, 2012 The Annie Jeffrey Health Center received a grant of $402,490 to purchase ePharmacy equipment, which would provide around-the-clock access to remote pharamacy support at the hospital. The Drawing and Painting Class added more murals to the walls of Osceola High School.

Osceola National Honor Society Students Help Clean Museum

The Polk County Historical Society museum is located in Osceola next to the hospital. The Mickey House is undergoing some renovation, hopefully to be done by July 1st for Osceola’s 150th celebration.

Blood Pressure Clinics

Clinics to monitor blood pressure will also be held each Tuesday or the month. They will be held at the Senior Center and rotate between each town in Polk County. 1st Tuesday - Osceola 2nd Tuesday - Shelby 3rd Tuesday - Stromsburg 4th Tuesday - Polk

Osceola Legion Auxiliary

American Legion Auxiliary Unit #91 will meet on Thursday, May 19th, at the Osceola Legion Club at 7:00 pm. Election of officers will be held, plus planning for Memorial Day. Kay Jones is hostess.
