National Day of Prayer Observed in Osceola

National Day of Prayer was held on Thursday, May 5th. St. Paul Lutheran Church was the host in Osceola with a luncheon and speaker. About 35 people attended, which hostess Carolyn Hanson was the largest turnout she could recall. A hymn “It’s Time to Pray” was sang, and then Mrs.

Osceola Has Good Showing at CRC Track

Even a delay of three days plus a cool damp day during the meet couldn’t slow down the Osceola Track Teams as they both had a strong showings. The Boys team made it back to back titles as they scored 137 points, while the girls minus Mae Valish, finished in 4th place with 78.

Three seniors rocked the house, or rather the gym last Thursday when they played Nirvana “Smells Like Teen Spirit” at Cross County’s spring concert. Parents in the audience were remembering this classic of 30 years ago from their high school or college days.

Graduating from UNK With Honors

Congratulations to Ross Berggren, who will graduate Summa Cum Laude on May 13th from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a bachelors of science in education, Mathematics 7-12 field endorsement. Also Ross has an inter-scholastic coaching endorsement.

Swedish Dancers Needed

The tradition of having local grade school children learn Swedish dances for the annual Swedish Midsommar Festival is something that is very much enjoyed both Friday and Saturday of the festival. Forms have been sent home with all Kindergarten through sixth graders.

Donelson Reunion
