Dickie “Deacon” Dittmer

Dickie ‘Deacon’ Lee Dittmer, age 75, passed away August 28, 2026 at his home in Osceola, Nebraska.

The family will have a Time of Remembrance on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Stromsburg American Legion Post #132.

Dickie was born May 9, 1951 in Stromsburg, Nebraska to Teddie M. and Mary (Ferguson) Dittmer. He attended school in Stromsburg, graduating from Stromsburg High School in 1969. He lived in Fort Collins, Colorado, Wheatland, Wyoming, and Tucson, AZ, before moving back to Nebraska.

He was united in marriage to Irla Jane Frizzell. They lived in Osceola where Dick was a carpenter for many years in the Polk County area. He was well known for his Pine and Cedar furniture he built for people. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and made several trips to Sturgis.

Survivors include his partner in life Jane of Osceola; siblings: Robert (Bonnie) Dittmer of Eureka, MT, Kathy (Anthony) Kresha of Columbus; nieces and nephews: Jodi (Jim) Earles of Colfax, IA, Greg (Tracy) Dittmer of Omaha, Kirk (Cathi) Dittmer of Kalispell, MT, Dr. Autumn Kresha and Neil Eastman of Needville, TX, Megan (Paul) Dunning, Otto and Josie, of Omaha, Summer Kresha and Kyle Gann of Council Bluffs, IA, Michaela Kresha and son Teddie of Columbus; step-children: Rob Burg of Omaha, Shana (Billy) Conger of Tifton, GA; step-grandchildren and great grandchildren: Austin (Jace Willets) Gabriel, Cassie, Anna, Olivia, of Osceola, Courtney Gabriet of Osceola, Jessica (Josh) Priester, Asher, Callie, Evelyn of Platte Center, Dillon (Shae) Gabriel, Barrett, Hudson, of Columbus; sister-in-law Susan Frizzel of Ontario, Canada; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Teddie and Mary Dittmer; infant brother Danny Dittmer; infant nephew Adam Glenn Kesha; brother-in-law Ronald Frizzell.
