David C. Shenk

David C. Shenk, 62, of Grand Island, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at CHI St. Francis Medical Center in Grand Island. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island with Rev. Kelly Karges officiating. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

David was born on September 18, 1961 to Carroll and Charlene (Nouzovsky) Shenk in Central City. He grew up in the Polk area and graduated from Polk High School in 1979. Following his graduation, he attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where he played on the basketball team for two years. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, he was united in marriage to Linda Snyder on May 28, 1983 in Stromsburg. They then made their home in Grand Island, where he worked for Kelly Supply as a salesman for over 20 years. He then went to work for Nebraska Machinery for a few years and Ingersoll Rand. David then began working for Grain Products Company in Stromsburg until his retirement in 2023.

David was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Grand Island for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, refereeing football and basketball games, and loved the Huskers. His greatest love was getting to spend time with his family and friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda of Grand Island; his children, Andrew Shenk of Grand Island and Lexi Shenk of Sioux Falls, SD; his brother, Darren (Chris) Shenk of Grand Island and sister-in-law, Donna Shenk of Polk.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Doug Shenk.
