Laurel Ann Parsley, 75, of Columbus, Nebraska, died Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Edgewood Vista Memory Care in Columbus under the Hospice care of St Croix. She had a peaceful passing with her youngest bonus daughter, Kerri, by her side until her last breath.
No visitation or services are planned.
Laurel was born on June 12, 1949, in Stromsburg, Nebraska, to Mervin and Josephine (Deay) Rystrom. She graduated from Stromsburg High School Class of 1967. Laurel Ann Rystrom was united in marriage to James Vol Parsley on April 30, 1971.
Laurie worked a variety of jobs but caring for children in her home while living in Norfolk and Columbus was her most loved and dedicated one.
She also stayed busy once a week printing the Columbus Church of Christ bulletin as well as teaching the children in bible class.
The Rystrom & Parsley family would like to recognize the staff at Edgewood Vista and St. Croix Hospice. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for their professional and compassionate care of Laurel this past year.
Laurel Ann is survived by sisters Barbara Dean and Patricia Everingham (Ken), step-daughters Kim Passmore and Kerri Parsley, sisters-in-law Linda Williams, Deborah Houston, and Barbara Parsley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Laurel was preceded in death by parents Mervin & Josephine Rystrom, husband James Vol Parsley, brothers Jon Rystrom and Martin Rystrom, brothers-in-law: Gary George Dean, Ron Parsley, Ivan Williams, and Kenneth Houston.
