Osceola Girls Get Wins Over High Plains, Heartland

OSCEOLA– The Osceola Girls Basketball team picked up two wins last week as they traveled to Polk on Tuesday February 7th and downed High Plains 33-26. They hosted Heartland on Thursday, February 9th and won 33-27. Osceola used strong defense and just enough offense to win both close games.

Bulldogs Win Physical Game at Home

OSCEOLA — Osceola evened its record on Thursday thanks to a 33-27 win over Heartland. The Bulldogs overcame a big second quarter by the Huskies and outscored them 24-14 in the second half, despite committing 26 turnovers in the game. The game stayed close through the first three quarters.

Girls Basketball Subdistrict Opponents Announced

Polk County girls’ basketball teams learned their postseason path on Thursday when the NSAA announced subdistrict host sites and pairings. Cross County and Shelby-Rising City could face off in a C2 subdistrict final, while Osceola and High Plains could face off in a D2 subdistrict final.

No Slowing Bulldogs

DAVENPORT — After a busy three game week at the Crossroads Conference tournament, in which they won the championship for the second time in three years with a 55-47 win over Cross County, the Osceola Bulldogs were right back at it with another three game week.

Lady Bulldogs Fall to Warriors on the Road

FULLERTON — The Osceola girls went to Fullerton on Thursday to face the Warriors. It was a neckand-neck close game. It was back and forth with one team ahead and then the other. Fullerton had the lead with 1:22 left in the game, 34-33.
Shelby-Rising City wrestlers had a busy couple of days. On Thursday the Huskies won the 2023 Crossroads Conference Title. On Saturday the team traveled to Kearney for the 2023 NSAA State Dual Championships, where the Huskies finished fourth.

County Clashes at CRC Tournament

BRAINARD — What a way to head into the weekend. The Huskies won the Crossroads Conference Tournament crown on Thursday, edging out nine other teams to take home the wrestling title. Shelby-Rising City finished with 160.0 points to finish first. High Plains finished fourth with 75.0 points.
