Peterson Chooses Doane College

Osceola senior Caleb Peterson has committed to play football at Doane College as he continues his education. Peterson was joined by his family and football coaches to make the announcement on Feb. 1.

Osceola wins CRC title

YORK — The old saying goes: Defense wins championships. The Bulldogs found out the other old saying in the Crossroads Conference title game: You have to hit free throws if you want to win. Osceola defeated Cross County 55-47 on Friday to secure the CRC Title.

Area Wrestlers Back in Action

FREEMAN — Cross County-Osceola traveled to the Freeman Invite on Friday. Devin Nuttelman was crowned the 106-pound champion at the event. He defeated teammate Wyatt Smith in 2:24 in the final round. Nuttelman went 5-0 on the day with five pins.

No. 3 Bulldogs Back in CRC Final

YORK — The Bulldogs are right where they want to be. Class D-2 No. 3 Osceola held-on for a 42-41 win for Bruning-Davenport/Shickley in the semifinal of the Crossroads Conference Tournament on Thursday at the York City Auditorium.

Lady Bulldogs Face Mustangs in a Rematch to Advance in CRC

YORK — Less than a week ago, the Lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Mustangs of McCool for a regular season game. Tuesday night, they would get a rematch in the Crossroads Conference. Osceola would get on the board first with a basket by Savanna Boden after a couple minutes of play.

Bulldogs, Huskies Face Off in First Round

YORK — The Osceola and Shelby-Rising City girls were seeded to play each other in the Crossroads Conference tournament on Saturday. They had not yet played each other in regular season, as they are scheduled for Feb. 10 in Shelby.

Huskies See 2 Champs Crowned at David City

Justin Knoll DAVID CITY — Shelby-Rising City had two champions at the David City Invite over the weekend. The Huskies finished third with 111 points. Millard West was the top placing team with 152 points. Collin Vrbka went a perfect 5-0 on the day at 220 pounds.
